#KeepTheCycleGoing: Looking back at 2020 and forward to 2021!
As we close out what will go down as one of the most challenging years for just about everyone, we're taking some time to reflect on the last 12 months, and we encourage you to do the same! Although there were times of difficulty and unease, there were also times of incredible growth, transformation, and positive change - across the world and here at Cycle Water.
During the uncertainty that 2020 presented us, we stuck true to our founding principles and stayed active in our hometown of Toronto, Canada, promoting a balanced, sustainable lifestyle. We had the privilege of partnering with some incredible organizations to give back to our community in a tangible way. We fuelled frontline workers and vulnerable populations in the city through Meals TO Heal, and helped people connect with each other through the Neighbourhood Run Club during a period of unprecedented isolation. We joined 35+ local businesses in Block4Blac, an inspiring day that raised over$35,000 in support of the Black Legal Action Centre - Canada's only specialty legal clinic working to combat individual and systemic anti-Black racism across the country.
2020 was also the year we announced our partnership with Plastic Oceans Canada to support shoreline cleanups across the country, help educate youth about the urgency of saving our oceans, and educate about the efficacy of small changes in our daily lives. Since the launch of our partnership on World Oceans Day in June, 10¢ from the sale of every can of Cycle Water has gone and continues to go to Plastic Oceans Canada. And we're proud to announce that, thanks to Cycle Water customers, we've supported Canadian ocean shoreline cleanups equivalent to 3.5x the height of Mount Everest!
We're incredibly proud of our community and our team for all that's been achieved this year. That said, we're not resting on our laurels. We encourage you to join us in taking a hard look at this past year - what worked, what didn't, what you'll be taking with you moving forward and what you'll be leaving behind.
We can't wait to #keepthecyclegoing as we look forward to even bigger and brighter things in 2021 – we don't want to give too much away, but one of those things might even sparkle. ;)
